7.4 Voluntary Standard Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT) – IFRS
The Standard Transition Plan Disclosure Framework is a comprehensive tool for standardizing and disclosing corporate climate transition plans.1 It provides a structured approach for presenting relevant information transparently and consistently. This enables stakeholders to make informed assessments of the corporate risks and opportunities in the context of climate change. The TPT Disclosure Framework places particular emphasis on identifying transition strategies, including investments in green technologies, adjustments to business models, and long-term emission reduction targets.
To promote best practices, the TPT Framework applies three guiding principles: ambition, action, and accountability. The framework is divided into five elements (as illustrated in the following figure).
Through standardized disclosure, the robustness of a corporate climate strategy is transparently presented for stakeholders (including investors) and comparability between companies is enhanced. After the IFRS organization already integrated the TCFD, it also assumed responsibility in June 2024 for the standard and key materials independently developed by the Transition Plan Taskforce.
